Dear People Who Are Hotlinking My Work

Some of you are taking my images and using them in funny ways, some of you are using my images in insulting ways.

However, all of you are misusing my images, not giving me credit, and consuming both my bandwidth and my computer cycles.

Before too long I am going to update my .htaccess file and cut you off.

What Have You Found?

Among the people embedding my photographs directly on their web pages...

  • The funniest line that was near one of my bread photographs was along the lines of "bread is under-rated. Remember that Jesus was the bread of life, not the steak of salvation." That line comes courtesy of a Korean guy.
  • A bread photo was used next to a pair of feet, in a non-complimentary way.
  • My bread photo was used in a book review forum. After viewing their page, I could see that many other people had their images hot-linked and had stopped it, so there were quite a few "broken image" icons on the page.
  • One of my bread photos was used on a mobile phone site in Easter Europe, judging by the language. It was not a bad site, it seemed to be helping people learn a foreign language with photos. But I just can't supply you with all this bandwidth at my expense.

Classic "SceneInSantaFe.com"

Ok, got the old site back up on the Internet.

Here's the link.

Back Online

After a major software upgrade I performed on a server with "issues" I experienced some down time.

Before too long I will put the "Classic" version of the web site back online.
